We are looking for an experienced Buyer/Planner to plan, procure and execute material requirements for production items according to the MRP plan in an engineering manufacturing environment.  In addition, the position will analyze system-planned information for accuracy; release purchase orders to suppliers and manufacturing orders to production while maintaining valid schedules and material control practices.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure continuity of supply, effective competition, quality and prompt delivery of products from internal and external suppliers.
• Utilize metrics and problem solving techniques to ensure root cause resolution on delivery, lead-time, cost, and other critical performance metrics.
• Utilize ERP/MRP system to analyze supply and demand for components and sub-assemblies. Analysis includes component part availability, lot size, lead-time, cost and other critical parameters.
• Utilize project management skills to seamlessly integrate material changes into a manufacturing environment.
• Collaborates with others to identify potential material shortages and expedites as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required and professional certification preferred (i.e. APICS, CPP, and/or CPPM).
• 8+ years of related Materials experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• 5+ years experience buying technical components, i.e. lasers, optics, and SMT boards.
• 2 years minimum experience in global sourcing and logistics.
