Gate Gourmet, Inc., a gategroup company, is the world's largest independent provider of catering and provisioning services for airlines. We are currently looking for a Director, Operations Materials for our San Francisco kitchen located at the San Francisco International Airport.
The Director, Operations Materials Management is responsible for the day to day management and push of food materials into a production environment producing 15,000 meals daily. Analyzes opportunities in productivity, material consumption, and other operation expenses for continuous improvement of operational practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Uses customer flight schedules and Bill of Materials (BOM) program to determine quantities of all customer required food and related menu items. Establishes and maintains forecasting and analysis procedures for determining load factor trends to determine appropriate quantities of required product purchases Ensure proper product storage & rotation and assisting other departments in ensuring products remain at specified standards Maintains an accurate daily requisition system and ensures requisitions are filled in a timely manner to meet production requirements. Conduct required audits to ensure the accuracy of purchase requisitions and vendor invoices prior to payment. Ensure compliance with required corporate, customer and governmental guidelines for proper sanitation, food handling, and temperature control practices. Maintains a material tracking program. Special projects and other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field required.
Work Experience:
5-8 years Supply Chain, Logistics, warehouse or materials management experience required. Previous experience in the airline industry or airline catering industry preferred. Previous experience in a high volume food manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with Bill of Materials information systems / S.A.P. operating environment. Previous exposure/experience in LEAN manufacturing/supply chain
Job Skills:
Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products including Excel Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a large staff Current or previous labor relations experience Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills required Must be innovative in making changes to the operation as needed to further improve the work environment and unit performance Knowledgeable of HACCP.
