The Logistics Planner will be involved in monitoring and expediting short lead-time orders, selecting carriers when automated tools don’t or are not configured to find a carrier for a shipment, and troubleshooting shipment problems. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary contact for shippers and carriers. Therefore, any shipment deficiencies will be directed back to the specialist. The Planner will also provide assistance in resolving the issues or situation that is causing the problem.
JOB SKILLS:
• Ability to work under pressure of time sensitive transaction – recognizes urgency, reset priorities, continue to communicate effectively and work error free. • Strong oral communication skills, particularly when dealing with a variety of people and situations over the phone. (Customer service roles are very analogous) • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Ability to quickly adjust to changing tactical situations. • Willingness to assist other team members to meet customer requirements • Ability to deal effectively with frequent interruptions • Good computer skills and a desire to expand skills as required by the assignment • Ability to work with no direct supervision
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:
• High school graduate, with college experience preferred. • Experience with carrier dispatching in the chemical or manufacturing industries beneficial. • Experience in a customer service role where the primary communications mode is by telephone and email.
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
